We Started Because No One Else Was Doing It Right
Rutherford has always been a town that values honesty — in its people, in its work, and increasingly, in its food. When we opened Knead A Bagel, we noticed something: the bagels around were either frozen and reheated or mass-produced to the point where texture and flavor had been engineered out of existence.
We decided to do it the way bagels are supposed to be done. Boil, then bake. Hand-shape, never machine-press. Use ingredients you can actually name. It's not complicated, but it is uncommon — and that's exactly why we're here.
Today, we're still on Park Avenue, still kneading by hand, and still surprised by how many people tell us we've become part of their daily routine. That's the highest compliment we could ask for.
